Twinr

Turn your BigCommerce store into a mobile app

Build a BigCommerce app without writing code

Native iOS and Android apps built from the store you already run. Your Stencil theme, Marketplace apps and BigCommerce checkout come with it, and push notifications are built in.

What carries over

Everything you’ve built on BigCommerce, working in your app

Nothing is rebuilt from the Storefront API, so nothing gets left behind.

Your Stencil theme

Page Builder widgets, custom templates and theme scripts render as they do on the web.

Your checkout and gateways

One-page checkout, your payment gateways and your tax and shipping rules, on your real checkout.

Apps from the Marketplace

Reviews, loyalty, subscriptions and search apps keep running as installed.

Options, variants and custom fields

Product options, modifiers and custom fields come through without re-modelling.

Promotions and coupons

Automatic promotions, coupon codes and price lists apply exactly as on your site.

Accounts and customer groups

Order history and group pricing carry over, and shoppers stay signed in.

Step by step

How to turn a BigCommerce store into an app

Five steps from store URL to a live app. Your team keeps selling throughout.

  1. Start from your live store

Open your store on a phone and walk product, cart and checkout. The app renders the same pages, so anything broken on mobile web gets fixed in your theme first.

  2. Add the native layer

Paste your store URL into Twinr. It reads your logo, colours and menu, and adds a native tab bar, push, persistent login, offline browsing and analytics.

  3. Customize and test a real order

Set your icon, splash screen and tabs, then install the preview build and place a full order with your payment gateway and a coupon code. App-specific issues show up here, not in store review.

  4. Publish to both stores

Submitted under your own Apple and Google developer accounts. On Premium, the Twinr team handles the listing, screenshots and review responses.

  5. Engage and grow

Send new arrivals, back-in-stock alerts and abandoned-cart reminders by push, and track push-driven orders in Twinr analytics. Every change in the BigCommerce control panel reaches the app instantly.

Features to jobs

What a BigCommerce app needs, and which Twinr feature covers it

Drops and launches

Push lands on the lock screen and opens the collection itself, not your homepage.

Push campaigns and automations →

Cart recovery and restocks

Automated pushes for abandoned carts and back-in-stock items, with no cost per send.

App-only offers

Build app-only pages with native screens, pair them with BigCommerce coupons and promotions, then promote them to app users only.

Native screens and app-only pages →

Shoppers who stay signed in

Persistent login keeps accounts, addresses and loyalty balances ready, so checkout is a tap away.

Native capabilities in every build →

Browsing without signal

Offline mode keeps visited pages readable and shows your brand instead of a browser error.

How the native shell works →

Knowing what the app earns

Sessions, retention and push opens tracked natively, so app shoppers are measured apart from web.

What Twinr analytics measures →

Push notifications

The channel you own, without the per-send bill

Email and SMS still matter. Push reaches the lock screen in seconds, opens straight into the product, and with Twinr it's included on every plan.

Good to know

What to check before you launch

A few things need a check on BigCommerce. Here’s what they are and how to handle each.

Digital products through BigCommerce checkout

Apple requires in-app purchase for digital goods used inside an iOS app, so selling downloads or digital access through your checkout can be rejected.

What Twinr covers: keep BigCommerce checkout for physical products, which are exempt, and use in-app purchase for digital goods.

Multiple storefronts

With multi-storefront, each storefront runs on its own domain and channel.

What Twinr covers: plan one app per storefront you want in the stores, or point a single app at your main storefront.

Desktop-only scripts and widgets

Anything your theme only loads above a desktop breakpoint won’t run inside the app.

What Twinr covers: test in the preview build and serve a mobile equivalent from your theme.

A store in a frame is not enough

Apple rejects apps that offer little beyond a mobile website.

What Twinr covers: native navigation, push, persistent login and offline browsing, which is what review looks for.

Competitor details as published on their own sites, checked 16 October 2026.

01

Does Twinr work with BigCommerce?

Yes. Twinr builds native iOS and Android apps that load your live BigCommerce storefront, so BigCommerce stays the source of truth for products, pricing, checkout and content, while Twinr adds native navigation, push notifications, offline browsing and analytics on top.

02

Will my Stencil theme work in the app?

Yes. The app loads your live storefront, so your Stencil theme, Page Builder widgets and custom templates render in the app as they do on the web.

03

Do my BigCommerce apps keep working?

Apps that run on your storefront keep working, because the app renders that storefront. That covers reviews, loyalty, subscriptions, search and support widgets. Test anything unusual in the preview build.

04

Does my checkout work in the app?

Yes. Customers check out through your real BigCommerce checkout, with your payment gateways, tax and shipping rules intact. No payment routing moves to a third party.

05

Does it work with B2B pricing and customer groups?

Yes. Customer groups, price lists and account-specific pricing apply in the app, because buyers sign in to the same storefront they use on the web.

06

Does Twinr take a percentage of in-app sales?

No. Twinr is a flat monthly plan with no revenue share and no per-order fee.

07

If I update my store, do I have to resubmit the app?

No. Products, prices, theme changes and new apps appear in the app immediately, with no new build and no store review. Only changes to the native shell, such as the app name, icon or a new device permission, need a resubmission.

08

Who owns the app and the store listings?

You do. The apps are published under your own Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts, so the listings, ratings, installs and customer data belong to you.

09

How much does a BigCommerce mobile app cost?

Twinr plans start at $25 per month, with unlimited push notifications and no revenue share. A custom native BigCommerce app built on the platform’s APIs typically costs tens of thousands of dollars per platform, plus ongoing upkeep.
